Samuel Graham Howard
    Samuel Graham Howard, 90, formerly of Lebanon, passed away on Wednesday,
Jan. 8, 2003, at his Richmond home. Born on Sept. 6, 1912, in Russell County,
Va., he was the son of the late Hiram and Maude Vencill Howard. Mr. Howard
graduated from Lebanon High School and served in the Pacific with the U.S.
Army during World War II. He received his BS degree from Emory & Henry
College, his MS degree from Radford and was an elementary school principal in
the Russell County School System before retiring in 1978. He was a member of
the Lebanon Memorial United Methodist Church and attended Trinity United
Methodist Church in Richmond. His wife, Lois Johnson Howard also preceded him
in death. 
    Survivors include a daughter, Kathryn Eugenia Klump of Yorktown, Va.; two
sons, Hiram "Johnny" Howard and Sam G. Howard Jr., both of Richmond; five
grandchildren, Hiram Scott Howard, Tommy, Kathryn and Matthew Klump and Graham
Howard; and one great-grandchild, Kylie Howard.
    Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, at 1 p.m. at
Owens Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Mike Carter officiating. Entombment
will follow at Ketron Memorial Garden Mausoleum, Lebanon.
    Family will receive friends on Friday after 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

11, 2003, at 1 p.m. at Owens Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Mike Carter
officiating. Entombment will follow at Ketron Memorial Garden Mausoleum,
Lebanon.
    Mr. Howard, 90, formerly of Lebanon, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2003,
at his Richmond home.
