Neal ST. PAUL -- Donald J. "Jerry" Neal, 57, died Monday, Dec. 9, 2002, at Russell County Medical Center, Lebanon, Va. He was born in Russell County, Va., son of the late Grady and Marie Crabtree Neal. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard for six years. He served his country with pride. He was preceded in death by an infant grandson. He was a member of the U.M.W.A. Local 1259 for 27 years. He is survived by his wife, Judy Rasnake Neal; one daughter, Marty Stanley and husband, Joey of St. Paul; one son, Jeffrey Neal and wife, Carrie of Chester, Va.; one unborn granddaughter, Emma Caroline Neal; one extra-special grandson, Travis Stanley; two brothers, Pat Neal and wife, Nancy of Hixson, Tenn., and Mike Neal and wife, Rita of Abingdon; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002, in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, with Rev. Mike Moore and Rev. Allen Porter officiating. Committal services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002, with military rites by Highlands Fellowship Veterans Honor Guard of Abingdon. The family will meet at the funeral home and go in procession to the cemetery, leaving at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Pallbearers will be Ed Rose, Jim Rynes, Lowell Perry, Jimmy Woody, Donnie Rasnake and Stacy Doyle. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Castlewood Funeral Home, Castlewood.
