Fields CASTLEWOOD -- Nell L. Fields, of Route 2, died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002, in the Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport. Born July 15, 1920, in Russell County, she was a daughter of the late Oscar and Odie Hartsock Rose. She was of the Baptist faith. She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Jack Hurd. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Kenneth A. Fields; three daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and husband Eddie Hurd, Faye Hurd and Frances and husband Danny Jones, all of Lebanon; three sons and daughters-in- law, Kenneth and wife Susie Fields, Lebanon, Joe and wife Sandra Fields, and Jerry Fields, all of Castlewood; nine grandchildren; one step-grandchild; nine great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Oma Hartsock, Nickelsville, Irene Helbert, Kingsport and Frances Hensley and Maxie Bradley, both of Castlewood; two brothers, Junior Rose, Coeburn and Earl Rose, Nickelsville; also several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, 2002, in the Combs Funeral Service Chapel in Lebanon with the Rev. Lester Sexton officiating. Burial will follow in Temple Hill Memorial Park in Castlewood. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends after 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, 2002, at the funeral home. Combs Funeral Service in Lebanon is serving the family of Mrs. Fields.
