Osborne CASTLEWOOD -- Nellie Hicks Osborne, 86, of Route 2 died Friday, Jan, 3, 2003, in Indian Path Medical Center in Kingsport. Born Jan. 15, 1916, in Russell County, she was a daughter of the late Walter Hicks and Lottie Mullins Hicks. She was the widow of Harvey Osborne. She attended Mt. View Community Church. She was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Hicks; and a sister, Rebel Mullins. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Helen and Corbin Salyers of Castlewood, Cora and Fred Dean and Sue and Ralph Campbell, all of Nicklesville; seven sons and five daughters-in-law, Grover Osborne, Holland Osborne and Wayne and Betty Osborne, all of Castlewood, Blane and Juanita Osborne of Nicklesville, Dan and Carolyn Osborne of Christiansburg, Va., Bill and Myra Osborne of Lebanon and Dane and Lynda Osborne of Coeburn; 20 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Martha Osborne of Lebanon and Maggie Meade of Martinsville, Va; two brothers, Rev. Clyde Hicks and Ernest Hicks, both of Castlewood; a very special care giver, Donna White; also nine nieces; and eight nephews. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan,. 6, 2003, in Combs Funeral Service Chapel in Lebanon with the Rev. Jeff Boggs, the Rev. Larry Coats and the Rev. Calvin Lester officiating. Burial will follow in Grassy Creek Community Cemetery. Dan Osborne and grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends after 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 5, 2003, at the funeral home. Combs Funeral Service in Lebanon is serving the Osborne family.
