Born Nov. 1, 1938, in Russell County, he was a son of the late Coy and Irene Harris Owens. He had lived in Honaker for the past year, moving there from Richmond. He was a retired supervisor with Phillip Morris. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Roger Owens. Survivors include three daughters, Connie Mundie of Surry, Va., Donna Owens of Newport News, Va., and Holly Owens of Abingdon; one brother, Dan Owens of Bristol Tennessee; and three grandchildren, Ryan Owens, Tiffany Mundie and Kaitlyn Mundie also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, with Rev. Clyde Lambert officiating. Interment will follow in Russell Memorial Cemetery at Lebanon.
