Born Jan. 17, 1913, in Swords Creek, she was a daughter of the late Fleming Thomas and Laura Frances Dye Perkins. She had spent most of her life in the Swords Creek area and was of the Free Will Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carlos J. Perkins; one son, Carlos Wayne Perkins; two sisters, Rosa Hill and Flossie Durbin; four brothers, Floyd Perkins, Joe Perkins, Luther Perkins and J.C. Perkins; and one grandson, Douglas Stephen Robertson. Survivors include two daughters, Wanda Robertson-Greear and her husband, Howard of Hansonville, Va., and Mrs. George (Frances) Adkins of Cedar Bluff; one son, Dallas Perkins and his wife Charlotte of Swords Creek; one sister, Etta Jackson and her husband, John of Findlay, Ohio; one brother, Kelly Perkins and his wife, Pat of Findlay; 15 grandchildren; 15 great- grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. Special care givers, Tama Wright and the Home Independent Health Nurses of Rosedale, Va. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, with Rev. Fairley Spencer, Rev. David Perkins and Rev. Scotty Perkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Perkins Cemetery at Drill, Va. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6 p.m. Thursday.
