He was born in Russell County, Va. He was a graduate of Castlewood High School and also Southwest Virginia Community College, Richlands. He earned his degree in engineering from the University of Tennessee. He was a member of Coeburn Masonic Lodge 97 A.F. & A.M. of Coeburn and was a member of the Royal Arch Chapter 79 of Coeburn. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Scarberry; one daughter, Morgan Alexis Scarberry of Castlewood; his father, Billy Joe Scarberry Sr. of St. Paul; his mother, Betty Sue Grizzle of Castlewood; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wilfred and Beatrice Magura of Toronto, Ontario Canada; two brothers-in-law, Keven Magura and wife Cindy and Darryl Magura and wife Jean; one niece, Kalli, all of Toronto, Ontario Canada; also several aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be held in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel in Castlewood, on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2002, at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Donald Page officiating. Committal services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood. The family will meet at the funeral home and go in procession to the cemetery, leaving at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. Masons will serve as pallbearers. The Scarberry family will receive friends at Castlewood Funeral Home, Castlewood, on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2002, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. with a Masonic service conducted by Coeburn Masonic Lodge 97 A.F. & A.M. in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, at 7:30 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the Scarberry family by e-mail to condolences@castlewoodfuneralhome.com.
