Tiller LEBANON -- Mr. Amos Taft Tiller, 68, of the Crossroads section, passed away Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003, at a Lebanon hospital. Born March 3, 1934, in Dickenson County, Va., he was a son of the late Henry P. and Rissie Eyelet Owens Tiller. He had lived in the Lebanon area since 1963, moving from Dickenson County. He had served in the U.S. Army for 11 years and was of the Primitive Baptist faith. He was a disabled coal miner, retiring in 1992 from Moss No. 3 Prep Plant and was a member of the UMWA Local 1258. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Shirley Tiller Perrigan. Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Sue Lambert Tiller of the home; one daughter, Sandra Denise Henley and her fiance, Robbie Brown of East Bend, N.C.; one son, Timothy Henry Tiller of Lebanon; two sisters, Alta Jean Parrish of Winchester, Va., and Andra Kay McCracken of Bristol Virginia; one brother, Luther Tiller of Lebanon; one half-brother, Homer Fuller of Martinsville, Va.; two grandsons, Cagney Allen Henley and Timothy Allen Tiller; one great-grandson, Donavon Allen Sanders; one brother-in-law, Maynard Lambert and his wife, Bobbie Lee of Lebanon. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, with Elder Willis Compton and Elder Price Viers officiating. Interment will follow in the Frank Smith Cemetery on Big A Mountain, Va. Military graveside honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 164 of Grundy. Pallbearers will be Timothy Henry Tiller, Cagney Allen Henley, Robbie Brown, Hassell Tiller, James Crabtree and Nathan O'Quinn.
