She was born in Scott County, Va., on June 25, 1923, to the late Logan and Nancy Sanders Gillenwater. Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward A. Osborne; a son, Tomie F. Osborne; and three brothers, Lee, Kyle and Ross Gillenwater. She was a member of Gate City United Methodist Church and a member of Rebecca Lodge 86. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Robert Collins, Abingdon, and Barbara and Frank Kennedy, Kingsport; four sons and daughters-in-law, Sidney and Kathy Osborne, Paul and Marietta Osborne and Mickey Joe and Gerry Osborne, all of Gate City, and Billy Wayne and Agnes Osborne, Kingsport; four sisters, Gladys Stapleton, Hampton, Va., Patsy Sawyer, McClure, Va., and Pansy Johnson and Barbara Collins, both of Kingsport; two brothers, Jack Gillenwater, Wise, and Bill Gillenwater, Coeburn; 14 grandchildren eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002, at the Gate City Funeral Home. Services will be at 8 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Steve Collins officiating. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 13, 2002, at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, Va. Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews. The family will be meeting at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. to go in procession to the cemetery. Online condolences will be gladly accepted at gcfh@mounet.com.
