Perry Borden is the son of Philip Borden, the son of Nicholas Borden, who was the son of Reinhard Borden, the German immigrant to America, circa 1738. He was born near Strasburg, Shenandoah Co. Virginia on 4 Mar 1822. He married No. 1 Elizabeth Ann Lee on 16 April 1850 in Shenandoah Co. Va. He married No. 2 Harriett Hamman on 9 October 1902 in Shenandoah Co. Va. He died on 6 Dec 1909 on his plantation near Lebanon Church, Shenandoah Co. Va., and is buried there in the Borden Family burial plot. This plantation is located 9/10 of a mile Southwest of Road No. 55, on Road No. 623, in the Northern part of Shenandoah County, Virginia. His first wife, Elizabeth Ann Lee, was the daughter of John C. Lee, and granddaughter of Barnett Lee. She was born on 16 January 1828 near Wheatfield, Shenandoah Co. Va. She died on 19 September 1901 in Shenandoah County, Virginia, and is buried beside her husband in the Borden burial plot. Abraham’s second wife Harriett Hamman listed herself as 50 years old and a widow when she married Abraham Perry Borden on 9 October 1902, also that her father was W. L. Hamman, and her mother as Mary. She may have remarried after Abraham died on 6 Dec 1909, and may be buried in St. Stephens cemetery nearby on Road No. 623. Robert Eugene Borden is the only child of Abraham Perry Borden and his wife Elizabeth Ann Lee. He was born on 16 January 1859, near Strasburg, Shenandoah County, Virginia. He married first Dora Belle Bageant on 27 February 1906 at Reynolds Store, Frederick County, Virginia. He married No. 2 Lucy Catherine Fitzsimons on 22 May 1917 at Strasburg, Shenandoah Co. Va. He died on 29 August 1935 at Strasburg, Shenandoah County, Virginia, and is buried there in the Riverview Cemetery. He was a farmer, lawyer, and during 1911-1913 was a member of the Virginia House of Burgesses (legislature). He also was very active in politics, and civic affairs of Strasburg, Shenandoah County, Virginia. His first wife Dora Belle Bageant was born on 16 Feb 1873 at Birch Grove, Morgan County, West Virginia. She died of tuberculosis on 24 Oct 1914 at Strasburg, Virginia, and is buried beside her parents Jonathan W. Bageant and Harriett Jane Bohrer in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Northwest Frederick County, Virginia near Ridge, West Virginia. Issue of this marriage was Eugene Bageant Borden b. 26 Jun 1907, and Janie Le Borden b. 19 Jul 1909. A very factual biography of Robert Eugene Borden was published in 1924, in Volume IV, History of Virginia, published by the American Historical Society, pages 333 and 334. His second wife Lucy Catherine Fitzsimons was b. 1 Sep 1879 at Strasburg, Virginia. She died on 29 March 1955 at Strasburg, Virginia and is buried there beside her husband in the Riverview Cemetery. Her parents were Thomas J. Fitzsimons and Mary Jessalyn Zea, and both are buried in the same cemetery. Issue of the second marriage was Eliza Ann Borden b. 9 Mar 1921 at Strasburg, Virginia and Robert Zea Borden b. 17 Dec 1922 at Strasburg, Va. Eugene Bageant Borden, was born 26 Jun 1907 at Strasburg, Shenandoah Co. Va. He did not marry. He is a retired druggist. During November of 1981 he was residing in Washington D.C.
