Funkhouser Cemetery Location: Basye, Virginia, back of Basye’s Store Shenandoah County The Basye’s graveyard is north of the building used as a store and amusement place, run by Mr. Bryce. The graveyard is surrounded by a woven wire fence and the gate is of iron, and the fence posts are of wood. There is a large tombstone in center of first row which has the one word “BASYE” on it. To the east of this marker is a marker reading “To an unknown Soldier”.
