David McCarty heirs deed, 1800, Shenandoah Co., Virginia _________________ Let this Instrument testify that John McCartey of the County of Shenandoah, John Hurst of the same county and Mary his wife, Absolom Hurst of the County and Catharina his wife, Jessee Hurst of the County of [blank] and Nancy his wife. Sally McCartey, Betsy McCarty, Thomas McCarty and William McCartey all of the said County of Shendoah [sic] (which said John, Sally, Betsey, Thomas and William McCarty, Mary, Catherina and Nancy Hurst are children & heirs of David McCarty deceased) for the consideration of fifty pounds to them paid in equal portions by John Gray of the County of Caroline the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and do hereby grant bargain and sell unto the said John Gray all that tract or parcel of Land being in Caroline County containing by estimation fifty eight acres be the same, more or less which was purchased by the said David McCarty deceased of Reuben Mondag and Sarah his wife and conveyed by deed recorded in the Court of the sd. County of Caroline with all its pertaining rights, proffits & priviledges. To hold the said tract of land and premises unto the said John Gray his heirs & assigns to his and their own use, free from and indemnified against the claim right and title of the Vendors, and each of them, their heirs, and all others whatsoever.
