(Woodstock, Va.) July 29, 1869 Mr. Charles Stoneburner, of Mt. Jackson, brakeman on the freight train running from Harrisonburg to this place, on Wednesday evening the 21st, had one leg cut off and the other so badly mashed and bruised that it was apprehended that amputation would be necessary. It appears that he was running from the rear to the front cars, on top, when he slipped and fell between the cars on the track. His recovery is thought very doubtful.
