Arnold, 73, of Damascus, died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005, at Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, Tenn. He was born in Bluefield, W.Va., and was the son of the late James and Juanita Arnold. He lived in Damascus for many years. He spent over 40 years in Europe during his military career in the U.S. Army and served in both the Korean Conflict and Vietnam era. He retired as Chief Warrant Officer from the U.S. Army in 1968, worked as operation manager with I.T.T. in Ben Haag, Netherlands, and was a member of the VFW Patton-Crosswhite Post #6975 of Bristol. Survivors include his wife, Sharon Arnold; two sons, Richard Arnold and Randy Arnold, both of New Bedford, Mass.; one daughter, Amanda Raines of Damascus; one step-son, James Brewer of Meadowview; one step-daughter, Rhonda Breeden of Cartersville, Ga.; five grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005, at the graveside in Veterans Affairs National Cemetery in Mountain Home, Tenn., with the V.A. chaplain officiating. The VFW Patton-Crosswhite Post #6975 and the Tennessee Army National Guard will present military graveside rites. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to the Damascus Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 458, Damascus, Va. 24236, or Damascus Volunteer Fire Department, P.O.
