Billings, 78, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2005, in Smyth County Community Hospital. He was a member of Valley View Baptist Church and was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U. S. Navy and was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the U. S. Army. He was also a lifetime member of the Francis Marion VFW Post # 4667. Survivors include his wife, Mary F. Billings of Marion; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Joyce and Rick Hanshew of Marion, Catherine and Mike Livesay of Salem; three sons and three daughters-in-law, Callie Joe and Grace Billings, Glen Scott and Crystal Billings, all of Marion and Bane L. and Denise Billings of Rural Retreat; one brother and sister-in-law, Bane Edward and Vange Billings of Marion; five grandchildren, Tiffany Steele, Brett Hanshew, Katie and Joey Billings, and Tyler Livesay, and two expected grandchildren, Willow and Wyatt Billings; his beloved dog “Tiny”; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005, at 8 p.m. at Seaver- Brown Chapel. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family at www.seaverbrown.com. The family will receive friends Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005, from 6-8 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Seaver-Brown Funeral Service and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
