Bird, 86, died Friday, Jan. 14, 2005, in Lake Ridge. She was the daughter of the late Judge James Russell Leech and Amanda Taylor. She was preceded in death by her husband and mate, Pastor Dr. Andrew R. Bird, Jr. She graduated from Hollins College, majoring in voice. Survivors include her daughter, Pamelia B. Sanderlin; sons, Andrew R. Bird III, James R. Bird, Timothy E. Bird and John F. Bird; grandchildren, Chelsea, Amanda, Taylor, Timothy and Sarah Bird; and a sister, Nancy L. Prigg. Graveside service was conducted Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 18, 2005, in Rock Church Cemetery, Washington, D.C. A memorial service will be held on Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, at 2 p.m. at Westminster at Lake Ridge, 12191 Clipper Dr., Lake Ridge, Va., 22192. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Glade Spring Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 336, Glade Spring, Va. 24340. Condolences can be sent at condolences@mountcastle.net.
