He was the son of the late Everett and Flossie Cardwell. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Smith. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Cardwell of Saltville; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Everett “Cliff” Cardwell, III and David A. and Jamie Cardwell, all of Saltville; two daughters and a son-in-law, Teresa Ann Cardwell of Saltville and Patricia Lynn and Michael Chapman of Chilhowie; one brother and sister-in-law, Freddie and Mae Cardwell of Saltville; one sister, Betty Mitchell of Saltville; and four grandchildren, Brandon Taylor, Chase Cardwell, Sandy Cardwell and Jessica Cardwell. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005, at Henderson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Elizabeth Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. D.R. Henderson Funeral Home in Saltville is in charge of arrangements. o
