Collins CHILHOWIE -- Ruth "Ruthie" V. Collins, 67, died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2003, at the Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon. Mrs. Collins was born Oct. 20, 1935, in Saltville. She regularly attended services at Grace Healthcare in Abingdon where she was a resident. Mrs. Collins was formerly a resident of Cleveland, Ohio, where she owned and operated a local tavern. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Thomas F. Sasey, Chilhowie and Katherine Sasey, Glade Spring; two grandchildren: Robert Hahn, Abingdon; and Alan Blevins, Marion; two great-grandchildren Lil' Robbie Hahn, Bristol Virginia; and Kennedy Hahn, Dungannon, Va.; two brothers: Don Cruey, Chilhowie; and James Cruey, Hardy, Ark.; and two sisters: Connie Terry, Saltville; and Katherine Johnson, Maitland, Fla. Funeral services will be held 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2003, at Bradley- Finney Funeral Chapel of Chilhowie with Pastor Bob Neace officiating. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003, at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Pallbearers will be Roger and Curtis Cruey, Jimbo and Ronnie Terry, Robert Hahn and Alan Blevins. Honorary pallbearers, Homer, Mark and Phillip Blevins, Danny and Kenny St. John, J.J. Jordan, Lil' Robbie Hahn, Jim Terry and Bud Holmes. The family would like to express special thanks to Grace Healthcare, J.M.H. CCU Unit, Drs. Wallace and Rinehart and the St. John & Hahn families.
