She was born in Princeton, W.Va., to the late Fred A. and Marjorie M. Miller Thomason. She was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church for many years. After her retirement from Duke Power in 1995, she enjoyed playing golf with the Croasdaile Ladies Golf Association. Survivors include her loving husband of 39 years, C.V. Conner of Durham, N.C.; sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Leo Matson of Princeton, W.Va.; brother and sister-in-law, Ronald E. and Carol Lyn Thomason of Marion; and five nephews and seven grand nieces, whom she loved as though they were her own. Graveside services were held Friday morning, Dec. 3, 2004, in Maplewood Cemetery. A memorial service followed in Westminster Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Haywood Holderness and Betty Berghaus presiding. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Conner’s memory may be made to the GYN Oncology Research Fund, Attn: Dr. Andrew Berchuck, DUMC, Box 3079, Durham, N.C. 27710. The family received friends in the church following the services. Hall-Wynne Funeral Service in Durham, N.C., was in charge of arrangements.
