Doss, 95, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2005, at her home. She was the widow of Tom Doss, and preceded in death by two sons, Junior Doss and Hubert Doss; three sisters, Carrie Owens, Hattie Richardson and Delphia Bise; and two brothers, Elwood Collins and Dewey Collins. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Oscar and Betty Doss and Dean and Ann Doss, all of Chilhowie; two daughters and a son-in-law, Bernie Moore of Chilhowie and Janie and Charles Young of Marion; one sister, Lottie Thomas; and eight grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday morning, Feb. 6, 2005, at the Chilhowie Church of God. The Rev. James L. Whitten officiated the ceremony. Burial followed in the Mount Olivet Cemetery. The family received friends Saturday evening, Feb. 5, 2005, at the Chilhowie Church of God.
