She was born June 20, 1909 at Glade Spring. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Glenn Faris, Sr.; her parents, Frank L. Robinson, Sr. and Mattie J. Rambo Robinson; four brothers, James, Jack, Charles and Frank, Jr. She was a member of the Tate's Chapel United Methodist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Mary Alice Faris of Glade Spring; one son and daughter-in-law, William G. "Bill", Jr., and Judy Faris of Glade Spring; two grandsons, Glenn Faris and wife, Karen of Glade Spring and Mark Faris and wife Stephanie of Anderson, S.C.; two great-grandsons, Austin Faris and Lance Faris; one great-granddaughter, Baileigh Faris; and two step great-granddaughters, Megan and Paiten. Funeral services were held Sunday evening, Dec. 12, 2004, at the Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Chilhowie. The Rev. Janet Richard and the Rev. Timothy E. Bird officiated the ceremony. A committal service was conducted on Monday afternoon, Dec. 13, 2004, in the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum at Knollkreg Memorial Park in Abingdon. Interment will follow in Knollkreg Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tate's Chapel United Methodist Church, 108 Plum Creek Rd., Chilhowie, Va. 24319. The family received friends Sunday evening, Dec. 12, 2004, just prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. Williams Funeral Home in Chilhowie was in charge of arrangements.
