Greer CHILHOWIE -- Gene Raymond Greer, 65, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002. Mr. Greer was a life time mechanic with a true passion for Harley Davidson and Indian motorcycles. He was loved by many and had many friends, He died at Johnston Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mattie Greer Troxell; his stepfather, Robert Lee Troxell; his wife, Mary Byrd Greer; one sister, Gerldine Pennington Berry; one brother, Bradley Pennington; and one nephew, Seth Edward Guyer. Survivors include: two daughters and son-in-law, Patricia Greer, Chilhowie and Rebecca Greer and Tony Call, Chilhowie; one son and daughter-in-law, Steven Edward and Teresa Evans Greer, Chilhowie; two sisters, Linda Troxell Guyer, Marion, and Mildred Cable, Pulaski; one brother, Robert Bobby Troxell, Chilhowie; three grandchildren and one on the way, Cody Steven Zenisek, Nichols Andrew Call and Summer Nicole Call; and several nieces and nephews and many friends. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday from the Grosses Creek Cemetery with Rev. Mike Sage officiating. There will be no public visitation at the funeral home. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for services. Bradley-Finney Funeral Chapel, Chilhowie, is in charge of the arrangements.
