Born October 12, 1927 in Chilhowie, to the late William E. and Virginia Blackwell Campell, she was a member of the Cedar Bluff Baptist Church. She was a loving Christian lady, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Survivors include her husband of 52 years, William “Bill” Hankla of Marion; one daughter and son-in-law, Kathy H. and Eddie Sheffield, Jr. of Christiansburg; one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth B. and Donna S. Hankla of Bland; three grandchildren, Katrina Sheffield, Eddie Sheffield, III, and Christopher Hankla; one sister, Jane McGhee of Marion; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec.14, 2004, at Seaver-Brown Chapel. The Rev. Eddie Beck and the Rev. Grady Byrd officiated the ceremony. Burial followed in Rose Lawn Cemetery in Marion. The family received friends Monday evening, Dec. 13, 2004, at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Seaver-Brown Funeral Service and Crematory in Marion was in charge of arrangements.
