He was a retired employee of Olin Corporation and had been a school bus driver for Smyth County Schools for the past 30 years. Mr. Harris was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a loving husband and father. Survivors: his wife, Ella Mae Harris; two daughters, Becky Harris Olinger and husband Shanon, Bristol Tennessee, and Linda Harris Harrell and husband Chuck, Saltville; two sisters, Virginia Harris Slusher and husband Robert, Knoxville and Madeline "Tottie" Harris Scott and husband Jake, Marion; and one aunt, Cynthia Brickey, Saltville. Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003, at Henderson Funeral Chapel with Rev. William Cahill officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Riverside Cemetery in Rich Valley. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 p.m. prior to the funeral service. D.R. Henderson Funeral Home of Saltville is serving the Harris family.
