She was born in Welch, W. Va., to the late Bradford and Beatrice Stone. One brother, William Stone, also preceded her in death. She was a member of the Sugar Grove Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Kyle P. Hawthorne; one daughter and son-in-law, Kyleen Cathie and Holiday Stanley Jr. of Bartow, Fla.; one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Anita Hawthorne of Marion; three brothers and sisters- in-law, Ivan and Chris Stone of Lincoln, Del., Jackie Donald and Irene Stone of Sugar Grove and Roger Stone of Baltimore, Md.; one sister, Mae Leaman of Sugar Grove; one sister-in-law, Sue Stone of Baltimore, Md.; seven grandchildren; one step-granddaughter; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004, at the Sugar Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenny Price officiating. Interment will follow in the Slemp Cemetery. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the services. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.bradleysfh.com. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2004, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Bradley’s Funeral Home in Marion is in charge of arrangements.
