Johnson SALTVILLE --Mrs. Karleen G. Johnson, 80, died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2002, at her home in Saltville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hattie and George Bryant; her brothers, James, George, J.D. and Sanders Bryant; a half sister, Annie Sue Mayo; and her husband, George W. Johnson. Mrs. Johnson was a member of Madam Russell United Methodist Church. Survivors: two sons, Scotty Johnson, Saltville and Johnny "Chip" Johnson and wife Norma, Abingdon; one daughter, Sidra "Sissy" Frye and husband Dennis, Glade Spring; three grandchildren, Aaron Johnson, Ashley Johnson and Caleb Frye; two sisters-in-law, Beulah Bryant, Saltville and Marivene Bryant Slemp, Marion; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002, at Henderson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Willis Osborne and Rev. Stan Green officiating. Interment will follow at Elizabeth Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Paul Thomas, Aaron Johnson, Kenny Gillespie, Ernie Johnson, Ked Johnson and Joe Johnson. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Virginia's Home Health and Hospice of Rural Retreat (Naomi Barrett, Tiffany, Sabrina and Paige). D.R. Henderson Funeral Home of Saltville is serving the family.
