She was born in Seven Mile Ford to the late Will and Alice Tuell Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Stella Jean Maloyed and a son, Wallace Conley Jones. She was a loving wife and mother and a member of the Chilhowie Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband of 72 years, Rev. Ralph Jones; her children, Bill and Martha Jones of Rural Retreat, Warren and Peggy Jones of Atkins, Juanita and Ray Stuart of Boiling Spring, S.C., Carol and Gene Moser of Greer, S.C. and Paul and Betty Jones of Chilhowie; three sisters, Virgie Hicks and Juanita Phillips, both of Bristol, Tenn., and Jodie Sexton of Knoxville, Tenn.; 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, at the Chilhowie Baptist Church with the Rev. Matthew Herrell and the Rev. David Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Rose Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Chilhowie Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 838, Chilhowie, Va. 24319. Expressions of sympathy can be sent to the family at www.bradleysfh.com. The family will receive friends Wednesday, Feb.16, 2005, from 6-9 p.m. at the church. Bradley’s Funeral Chapel in Chilhowie is in charge of arrangements.
