Lawrence LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Mrs. Ethel Galliher Lawrence, 97, entered into rest Thursday, March 13, 2003, in Lynchburg. She was a longtime resident of McHenry Creek of Saltville and a faithful member of Plasterco United Methodist Church. She was the wife of the late William "Bill" James Lawrence. Survivors: one daughter, Nannie Lawrence Gates and husband Paul, Lynchburg; one son,William Creston Lawrence and wife Flonita, Augusta, Ga.; two granddaughters, Brenda Spielman, Richmond, and Terri Smith, Augusta; two great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Ruby Shortt, Bristol Tennessee, and Ruby Galliher, Marion; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 16, 2003, at Henderson Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Elizabeth Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening, March 15, from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. D.R. Henderson Funernal Home of Saltville is serving the Lawrence family.
