He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Fields McGhee; two sons, Roger (Tod) McGhee and James Estle McGhee; two infant daughters, Florence and Margaret; one granddaughter, Sunday Renee; one grandson, Tim Lamie; his parents, Estel and Susie McGhee; two sisters; and two brothers. He was retired from the Olin Chemical Corporation. Survivors include one daughter, Mary "Bunny" Lamie, of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Jackie and Brenda McGhee of Max Meadows; daughter-in-law, Carol McGhee; nine grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; three great-great- grandchildren; seven sisters, Dora McAllister, Laura Blevins, Mixie McAllister and Betty Bise, all of Chilhowie, Annie Sanders of Saltville, Hazel Ford of Glade Spring and Joyce Blevins of Marion; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted Monday evening, Jan. 24, 2005, at Henderson Funeral Home. The Rev. Neville Mozingo and the Rev. Wesley Eller officiated the ceremony. Graveside services were conducted Tuesday morning, Jan. 25, 2005, in the Ridgedale Cemetery. The family received friends Monday evening, Jan. 24, 2005, at the funeral home just prior to the service. D. R. Henderson Funeral Home in Saltville was in charge of arrangements.
