Moser CHILHOWIE -- Elizabeth S. Moser, 76, died Monday, March 17, 2003, in Smyth County Community Hospital, Marion. She was the widow of Merlie Brown Moser and a charter member of the Deer Valley Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Charles Slate, Myrtle Beach, S.C.; three special nieces, Doris Mayes, Margaret Hutchinson and Betty Smith, all of Chilhowie; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gene and Betty Moser, Chilhowie; special friend, Chick McCormick, Chilhowie; also faithful pet, Montana. Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Riverside Cemetery with Rev. John H. Adams and Rev. Don Hazelwood officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Memorial Fund of Deer Valley Baptist Church, P.O. Box 3, Chilhowie, VA 24319. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Williams Funeral Home.
