He was born Sept. 19, 1946, in McDowell County, W. Va. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Randolph Pafford and Jocie Christine Osborne Pafford. Survivors include one daughter, Theresa Marie Kilby of Salem; two grandchildren, Marah and Jared Kilby, both of Salem; one son, James Carson Pafford Jr. of Splendora, Texas; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Cecil E. and Patrica Pafford of Chilhowie, Garvey Ray and Pat Pafford of Brighton, Tenn., Sidney S. and Mildred Pafford of Marion and Joseph R. and Shirley Pafford of Glade Spring; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Polly N. Pafford and Buddy Haga and Eva Mae Pafford and Jeff Hutton, all of Marion; two step daughters; several nieces and nephews and special friends, Jim Bob Mullins, Zeke Warren, and Jerry Blevins, all of Marion. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 1, 2005, at 2 p.m. at the Bradley’s Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Neville Mozingo and the Rev. Wayne Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in the Hutton Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.bradleysfh.com. The family received friends Friday evening, Dec. 31, 2004, at the funeral home in Marion. Bradley’s Funeral Home in Marion is in charge of arrangements.
