She had lived in Washington County all of her life and was the last surviving member of the family of the late James Wiley Ashley and Minerva Blevins Ashley of Green Cove. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, James Morgan Parker. She was a member of the Glade Spring Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Eleanor P. and Harold Cullop of Dublin; one son and daughter-in-law, Sidney Hal and Patsy Parker of Glade Spring; five grandchildren, Susan Caldwell, James Cullop, Kay Cullop, Donna Addington and Angela Sells; six great-grandchildren, Ben Cullop, Daniel Cullop, Seth Cullop, Jenna Cullop, Shelly Caldwell and Ian Addington; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted Monday evening, Jan. 24, 2005, in the Garrett Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Stephen Turner and the Rev. Fred Parker officiated the ceremony. The committal service and interment was held Tuesday morning, Jan. 25, 2005, at Sunset Memorial Park in Damascus. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to the Green Cove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Don Hash, P.O. Box 792, Damascus, Va. 24236 or to the Glade Spring Baptist Church, P.O. Box 367, Glade Spring, Va. 24230. Condolences may be sent to the family through the website at www.garrettfuneralhome.com. The family received friends Monday evening, Jan. 24, 2005, prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. Garrett Funeral Home in Damascus was in charge of arrangements.
