Rufus C. Blevins

    GREEN COVE, Va. -- The funeral service for Rufus C. "Sweet" Blevins will 
be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002, in the Green Cove Baptist 
Church with Rev. Herman Cress and Rev. Charles E. "Jody" Blevins officiating. 
The committal service and interment will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Green 
Cove Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. 
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be sent 
to the American Lung Association of Virginia, P.O. Box 1249, Abingdon, 
VA 24212. The family will receive friends from 6-7:45 p.m. Wednesday prior 
to the funeral service at the church or at any time at the residence of Jim 
and Gail Barr in Green Cove. Condolences may be sent to the family via 
e-mail to condolences@garrettfuneralhome.com.
    Mr. Blevins, 78, passed away on Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, at Smyth County 
Community Hospital in Marion. 
    Garrett Funeral Home in Damascus is serving the family of Mr. Blevins.
