He was born in Wythe County to the late James Franklin Rosenbaum and Dora Spraker Rosenbaum and was preceded in death by two sisters, Rosa Lee Blackslee and Cecil Kincer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. and had been a farmer most of his life. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Kegley Rosenbaum; one son and daughter-in- law, James Earl, Jr. and Rene Rosenbaum, of Wakefield; three daughters and sons- in-law, Patricia and David Smith of Cripple Creek, Doris Hawthorne of Oxnard, Calif., and Linda K. and Michael Rose of Laurel Hill, Fla.; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank E. Rosenbaum and Robert R. and Mary Frances Rosenbaum, all of Wytheville, David and Arlene Rosenbaum of Salem; two sisters and a brother- in-law, Pearl and Clarence Gallimore of Pulaski and Hazel Saam, of Muncy, Pa.; two sisters-in-law, Eva Havens and husband, Luther of Columbus, Ohio and Mary Jo Andrea of Cape Coral, Fla.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, Feb. 4, 2005, from Bradley's Funeral Home Chapel in Marion. The Rev. Donald Medley officiated the ceremony. Interment was in Roselawn Cemetery.
