Ross, 81, of Street, Md., died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2005, at his home. He was born Oct. 1, 1923 at Flat Ridge, a son of the late Alex M. and Dema (Phipps) Ross. He worked as an auto mechanic at Bainbridge Naval Station until it closed and then at Aberdeen Proving Ground until he retired in 1978. He attended Evangelical Methodist Church and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Katherine L. Ross; two sisters, Ohna Todd of San Diego, Calif. and June Sherlock of Klamath Falls, Ore.; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be on Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005, at 11 a.m. at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main St., Delta, Pa. Dr. John E. McKnight will be officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Nebo Cemetery, Delta, Pa. Memorial contributions may be made to the Evangelical Methodist Church, P.O. Box 88, Darlington, Md. The family received friends on Friday evening, Feb. 4, 2005, at the funeral home. Harkins Funeral Home, Inc., in Delta, Pa., is in charge of arrangements. o
