He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordie and Ruby Sheets and brother, Allen Sheets. Survivors include his wife, Doris West Sheets of Marion; one daughter and son- in-law, Lisa Sheets and David Suthers of Wytheville; three sons and daughters- in-law, Mark E. and Kathy Sheets of Marion, Gregory A. and Ginger Sheets of Chilhowie and Eric E. and Kim Sheets of Bristol; one sister, Charlotte Parks of Sugar Grove; three brothers, Bill Sheets and Ken Sheets, both of Marion, and Raymond Sheets of Sugar Grove; six grandchildren, Gregory and Andrea Miller, Robbie and Carla Suthers and Tyler and Corey Sheets; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, Jan. 3, 2005, at Seaver-Brown Chapel with the Rev. John H. Graham and the Rev. Paul Horton officiating. Burial followed in West Cemetery in Marion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Zion Hill United Methodist Church, c/o Marsha West, 2418 Riverside Rd., Marion, Va. 24354. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family at www.seaverbrown.com. The family received friends Sunday evening, Jan.2, 2005, at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Seaver-Brown Funeral Service and Crematory in Marion was in charge of arrangements.
