He was born in Smyth County to the late Walter and Margaret Sheppard. He had worked at Virginia House Furniture and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Marion. Survivors include one uncle, Clyde Sheppard; several cousins including a special cousin, Pansy Parks of Marion; special friends, Buddy and Mary Blevins and David and Wilma Bradley; several friends from Calvary Baptist Church and former co-workers at Virginia House Furniture. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. from the Bradley's Funeral Home Chapel in Marion, with Rev. Gary Trout officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday 1-1:30 at the funeral home. Bradley's Funeral Home, Marion, is serving the family.
