He was a native of Yadkin County, N.C., son of the late Israel and Permelia Childress Stinson. He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of the World War II, a retired employee of Burlington Industries and a member of Marion Baptist Church. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Kathy S. and Scott Cummings of Hillsborough, N.C.; daughter-in-law, Rita C. Stinson of Efland, N.C.; grandsons, Richard Stinson of Hillsborough, N.C., and David Stinson of Efland, N.C.; and a great-granddaughter, Brandi Stinson of Efland, NC. The Rev. Randy Carter held funeral services Tuesday morning, Nov. 30, 2004, in Walker’s Funeral Home Chapel in Hillsborough. Graveside services were held Tuesday evening, Nov. 30, 2004, in Rose Lawn Cemetery in Marion by the Rev. Neville Mozingo. Visitation was held one hour prior to the funeral services at Walker’s Funeral Home in Hillsborough, N.C. Walker’s Funeral Home in Hillsborough, N.C., was in charge of arrangements.
