She was a life long resident of Damascus and was the daughter of the late John Ben Ferguson and Eura Dunn Ferguson. She was preceded in death by a brother, Wilton Ferguson; and a sister, Shirley McGlamery. She was a member of the Damascus Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband, Harold J. Stout; four brothers, Harry Ferguson of Wheeling, W.Va., E.A. "Joe" Ferguson of Greenville, S.C., Ervin Ferguson of Wooster, Ohio and Jerry Ferguson of Damascus; one sister, Hazel Smith of Abingdon; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 4, 2005, in the Damascus Church of Christ with Mr. Bill Reece, minister officiating. The committal service and interment followed at Sunset Memorial Park in Damascus. Condolences may be sent to the family through the website at www.garrettfuneralhome.com. The family received friends Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 4, 2005, prior to the funeral service at the church. Garrett Funeral Home in Damascus was in charge of arrangements.
