"Tinker" Surber, 37, died Friday, Feb. 25, 2005, in Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was a member of Lincoln Hill Baptist Church in Marion. Survivors include his parents, Pastor Ralph and Mary Surber of Chilhowie; one daughter, Tiffany Nicole Surber; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael and Beverly Surber of Saltville and David Allen and Trixy Surber of Chilhowie; one sister and brother-in-law, Nancy Christina Mae and Guy Stone of Chilhowie; two nephews, Jay Greer and Matthew Stone; and two nieces, Brianne Greer and "Punkin" Stone. Funeral services were conducted Monday morning, Feb. 28, 2005, at Henderson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Otis Barker officiated the ceremony. Interment followed in Mount Rose Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that love gifts be made toward the funeral expenses. The family received friends at the funeral home Sunday evening, Feb.27, 2005. D.R. Henderson Funeral Home in Saltville was in charge of arrangements.
