He was born in Smyth County and was a graduate of Marion Senior High School class of 2000. He attended Virginia Highlands Community College and Virginia Intermont College where he was on the dean's list for three years and on the National dean's list for one year. He enjoyed history and writing and had written for Formula One Racing. Survivors include his parents, David and Vanessa Joan Teaters of Marion; maternal grandmother, Elva Davis of Marion; paternal grandparents, Bradley and Ruth Teaters of Chilhowie; half sister, Melissa Mason of Marion; one niece, Lynee Mason; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members. Private funeral service was held Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, at the Bradley's Funeral Home in Marion. Dr. Mark Ross and the Rev. David Neitch officiated the ceremony. Burial followed in Roselawn Cemetery. Bradley's Funeral Home in Marion was in charge of arrangements.
