William E. Tibbs, 70, died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005, in Smyth County Community
Hospital. 

Survivors include one sister and brother-in-law, Lola and B. H. Bumgarner of
Abingdon; and two nephews, Michael Bumgarner and Gary Akers. 

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, Feb. 11, 2005, at Seaver-Brown
Chapel. The Rev. David Neitch officiated the ceremony. Burial followed in Rose
Lawn Cemetery, Marion, where military rites were conducted by Francis Marion
VFW Post #4667.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
Box 246, Abingdon, Va. 24212. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family

The family will receive friends Thursday evening, Feb. 10, 2005, at Seaver-
Brown Chapel.

Seaver-Brown Funeral Service and Crematory in Marion was in charge of
arrangements. o
