He was a member of Lowman Valley Church. Jimmy was preceded in death by his mother, Mamie Urps Ward; his father, Frank David Ward; two sisters, Pearl Norwood and Nancy Hubble; and two brothers, Sidney and Billy Ward. Jimmy loved to sing for Jesus and did so at various churches, nursing homes, hospitals and funerals. He was an avid fisherman and gardener and was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Katherine Ward of Marion; one daughter, Katherine Cregger of Ivanhoe, Va.; four sons, James E. "Jim" Ward Jr., Jerry L. Ward Sr., Joe Ray Ward, all of Marion, and John D. Ward of Fayetteville, W.Va.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three nieces; one nephew; and a special friend, Joey Cullop. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 27, 2003, at 7 p.m. at Seaver- Brown Chapel with Rev. Steve Hutton officiating. Graveside services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Rose Lawn Cemetery in Marion. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 until 7 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Seaver-Brown Funeral Service is serving the Ward family.
