Mr. Terry was born in Smyth County to the late William and Lula Jones Terry and was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Jackson and Jean Landreth. He was retired from the Southwestern State Hospital and was a member of the Cedar Bluff Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Pacific Theater during World War II and was the recipient of a Purple Heart. He was a member of the Francis Marion V.F.W. Post 4667 and the Disabled AmericanVeterans. Survivors include: wife, Muriel Slemp Terry; one daughter, Lorine Camp, Wilmington, Del.; one son, Fred Pack, Randleman, N.C.; one sister, Thelma McNeil, Baltimore; three special friends, John and Betty Metheney and Ruth Gore; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many special nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Bradley's Funeral Home Chapel in Marion with Rev. Eddie Beck officiating. Burial will follow in the Laurel Springs Cemetery with full military honors being rendered by the Francis MarionV.F.W. Post 4667. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Bradley's Funeral Home, Marion, is serving the Terry family.
