[perpendicular, on other half of page] Darden { } vs { } Bill Williamson &c{ [page end] [images 0284 & 0285 - p. 1 of bill] To the worshipful Court of Southampton County in Chancery sitting _ Humbly complaining sheweth unto your worships your orator Jacob Darden curator for William Everitt, orphan of Mills Everitt decd_ that on the 18th. day of February 1808, a certain Richard Williamson of the county of Northampton and state of North Carolina, executed to him a certain sealed note or writing obligatory for the Sum of one hundred and fifty dollars, payable two months after date, as will fully appear by the said sealed note or writing obligatory, hereto annexed and prayed to be taken as a part of this bill - Your orator further represents to your worships, that a certain Willis Britt [?? struck] of the County of Southampton has in his possession, as your orator has been in_ formed and verily believes, a negro lad named Peet and other personal property, belonging to the said Richard Williamson, which property is Sub _ject to your orators demand, as he has been advised, in pursuance of the act of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth entitled "An act directing the "method of proceeding in the Courts of Equity against absent "debtors or other absent defendants and for settling "the proceedings or attachments against absconding "debtors." In tender consideration whereof and to the end grant your orator a that your worships may ^ decree the above mentioned sum [page break] [images 0286 & 0287 - p. 2 of bill] of one hundred and fifty Dollars, with interest, [?? struck] [?? struck] and that the before mentioned property ["of" struck] in the hands of the aforesaid Willis Britt may be Subjected to the payment thereof, may it please the Court to make the before named Richard Williamson and the Said Willis Britt defendants to this bill and compel them to answer on their corporal oaths to be by them taken on the holy Evan_ gelists of almighty God, all and singular the allegations of the Same fully; perfectly and unevasively _ And that complete, ample and effectual Justice may be rendered in the premises, may it please the Court, to appoint some day or some succeeding term ["of" struck] for the said Richard Williamson, to enter his appearance according to & by the actual act of the General assembly, and in the mean time to restrain the said Willis Britt from paying, conveying away or secreting the effects of the said Williamson in his hands, untill the further order of this Court - May it please the Court to grant any other & general relief which may be applicable & your orator will ever pray as in duty bound _ Stith for Compt.
