Whereupon for reasons appearing to this Court the Said recognizance is continued till the next Term. [indexed "Mountford, Bauldy"; was likely named 'Archibald'] __________ __________ [p. 517] [At a Court held for the County of Southampton, the 18.th of July 1842] Matthew Mountford who stands bound by recognizance for his appearance here to answer the complaint of Baldy Mountford against him for a breach of the peace this day appeared on discharge of his recognizance - and the said Baldy Mountford being sworn and examined. and the said Matthew Mountford being fully heard it is the opinion of the Court & accordingly ordered that the said Matthew Mountford do find Security for keeping the peace for the term of 12 Months from this day. the said Matthew Mountford to be bound on a recognizance in the sum of $20. with two Securities in the Sum of $10 each. and that he also pay the costs of the prosecution Whereupon the said Matthew Mountford with Anthony M Howell & Fielding J Mahone his Securities herein [sic] court Severally acknowledge themselves indebted into John M Gregory Lieutenant Govenor [sic] acting as Govenor of the Commonwealth of Virginia that is to Say the said Matthew Mountford in the sum of $20 and the said Howell & Mahone in the Sum of $10. each of their respective goods & chattel lands & tenements to be levied & to the Said Lieutenant Govenor acting as Govenor and his Successors in the Office of Govenor to the use of the commonwealth rendered. Yet Upon this condition that if the said Matthew Mountford shall keep the peace & be of good behaviour towards all the citizens of this Commonwealth more especially towards the said Baldy Mountford for the term of twelve months from this day then this recognizance to be Void. __________ __________ On the motion of James D Massenburg. Ordered that Master Commissioner Cobb examine State & Settle an additional account of the said Massenburgs administration on John Blunts estate & make report thereof to Court with any matters Specially Stated deemed pertinent by himself or which he may be required to State __________ __________ For reasons appearing to the Court.
