A COLORED GIRL SHOT AND INSTANTLY KILLED BY A COLORED MAN. [Special telegram to the Dispatch.] Franklin, Southampton county, Va., July 5.- Anna Perkins, a colored girl, eighteen years of age, was shot and instantly killed here to-day by a negro named Emanuel Vick. The shooting occurred at the door of Vick's candy-shop, and the weapon used was an old-fashioned flint-and-steel pistol, carrying a very large ball. The load took effect in the back just under the right shoulder, passed through the left lung and heart, and came out at the left breast. Vick denies knowing the pistol was loaded, and says he was only trying to frighten her. This is contradicted by two colored boys who left the pistol at Vick's shop, and say they told him it was loaded. He was refused bail, and was sent on to the next term of the County Court for indictment. A white man and a negro engaged in a row. The white man used a pistol, but without effect, and was fined and bound over to keep the peace.
