     Elizabeth UZZELL, Acquitted of Barratry, 17 Aug 1817

[At a court held for the county of Southampton on the 17_th day of August 1817] 
Spratley Williams is by the Court appointed Surveyor of the road 
from the Bethlehem Cross roads to the angelica Bridge in the rood [sic] of Peter Blow 
who is discharged, And it is ordered that the male labouring tithables who usually 
worked thereon do attend and assist Said Surveyor in repairing the 
said road when required ___

      ag.t                                       } upon a recognizance 
Elizabeth Uzzell . . . . . . . . . . . . . .Deft.} for Barratry 
             The defendant appeared in Court according to her recognizance 
entered into, and thereupon her Securities from their undertaking & recognizance 
are discharged, and the said Elizabeth Uzzell being fully heard by Counsel 
and for Sufficient reasons offered to the Court  It is ordered that the warrant 
and all things had thereon _ in this prosecution be quashed and the Same 
is hereby accordingly quashed ___

        Jordan Edwards is by the Court appointed Surveyor of the road 
from the fork of the road at Amos Councills to the fork of the road at James [sic] 
at James Wills in the room of Arther[?] Williams who is discharged  And 
It is ordered that the male labouring tithables who usually worked thereon 
do attend and assist Said Surveyor in repairing the said road when 
required ___

        Ordered that the hands of Willie Wellons and John Low work on 
the road whereof Jordan Beale is Surveyor in future ___ 
== 
        On the motion of David Williams who made oath and together 
with John Moore and Peter J. Pierce his Securities entered into and acknowledged 
a bond in the penalty of five Thousand dollars Conditioned as the law directs 
Certificate is granted the said David for obtaining letters of administration on the 
estate of William Williams deceased, in due form

        Ordered that Thomas Pretlow, Thomas Jones, James Williams and 
Matthew Joyner or any three of them being first Sworn by a Justice 
of the peace, do well and truly appraise in Current money all the personal 
Estate of William Williams dec.d and return the appraisement under 
their hands to the Court ___

                   Ordered that the Court be adjourned untill tomorrow 
morning 10 O,Clock  ~
