Baker & Katharine Haynes ex'ors &c of William Haynes late of Isle of Wight county of the one part; & Wm. Glover of the county of Nansemond of the other part Whereas the said W. Haynes was in his life time & at the time of his death seized & possessd of & in one certain tract or parcel of land Situate lying & being in the county of Southampton on the south side of Black Water swamp containing one thousand & ninety eight acres commonly called Quinquan & being so sezed departed this life having first made his last will & testament in writing wherein he directs that his ex'ors shoud sell any personal estate either lands negroes or personal estate as they shoud find least inconvenient to his family which will bearing date the ninth day of November one thousand seven hundred & sixty one is proved & recorded in the court of Isle of Wight county reference being thereunto had may more fully & at large appear And Whereas the said Richard Baker & Katharine Haynes ex'ors as aforesaid finding it woud be less inconvenient to sell the lands than the other part of the estate have by virtue of the said will accordingly disposed there of Now this Indenture witnesseth that for & [in] consideration of the sum of two hundred & seventy four pounds current money of Virginia by the said Wm. Glover to the said Richard Baker & Katharine Haynes in hand paid by the receipt whereof they the said Richard Baker & Katharine do hereby acknowledge & thereof acquit & discharge the said Wm. Glover his heirs ex'ors & administrators Have granted bargained sold aliened released transfrd & confirmed & by these presents do grant bargain sell alien release transfer & confirm unto the said Wm. Glover his [heirs] & assigns a certain tract or parcel of land containing seven hundred & twenty seven acres or there abouts being a parcel of the one thousand [page break] [p.] 241 & ninety eight acres as aforesaid & bounded according to the most Known ancient & reputed bounds thereof and all houses outhouses woods ways waters profits commodities hereditaments and appurtenances & the reversion & reversions remainder & remainders rents issues & profits thereof & also all the estate right title interest property claim & demand of the heir of the sd. William Haynes of in or to the same or any part thereof To have & to hold the said tract or parcel of land & premises with the appurtenances unto the said Wm. Glover his heirs & assigns To the only proper use & behoof of the said Wm. Glover his heirs & assigns for ever & they the said Richard Baker & Katharine Haynes for themselves & their heirs do covenant promise & agree to & with the said William Glover his heirs & assigns that the sd. tract or parcel of Land containing seven hundred & twenty seven acres or thereabouts unto him the said Wm.
