Scott And Miriam his wife do hereby acknowledge & thereof acquit & discharge the said Sion Williams his heirs & assigns forever by these presents they the said James J. Scott & Miriam his wife hath granted bargained sold alien'd released & confirmed [&] by these presents doth grant bargain sell alien enfeoff and confirm set over and deliver unto the sd. Sion Wms. his heirs and assigns forever [a certain tract & parcel of land] situate lying & being in the County aforesd. & parish of Nottoway & bounded as followeth beginning at a Gum a corner tree of John Joyners land thence North 4 degrees west 139 poles to a white oak a corner of Wm. Haynes lands thence South 60 degrees East East 140 pole to a live oak another Corner of sd. Haynes & thence south 89 degrees west 60 poles to an oak & thence South 37 degrees west 76 poles [page break] [p.] 423 to the beginning containing 30 acres and all houses outhouses edifices buildings woods ways waters watercourses profits commodities & hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining and the reversion and reversions remainder & remainders rents issues and profits thereof & all the estate right title & interest of them the said James J. Scott & Miriam his wife of in & to the same and every part thereof To have and to hold the sd. plantation tract and measuage of 30 acres land aforesaid unto him the said Sion Williams his heirs & assigns forever & the said James J. Scott & Miriam his wife & their heirs the said 30 accres land and premises with the appurs. unto the said Sion Williams his heirs and assigns forever against them selves their heirs and assigns and against all persons whatsoever shall and will warrent and forever defend by these presents In Witness whereof the said James J.
